14-20mm Drainage Scoria is a selection of rough stones made from porous volcanic materials where the shape and durability of the rock better allow the flow of water between them. This makes them ideal for areas where drainage is critical.
Scoria is often used as the fill behind retaining walls to prevent water build up behind the wall. The contributes to the strength and stability of the retaining. Additionally, it is also used where pipes are being laid to provide stability and drainage.
In heavy clay soils, where water does not have a ready escape route, a mixture of Scoria materials can provide the necessary outlet leading to drier, more stable surface.
