Sub-base is a stony layer of gravel or crushed rocksforming part of a base foundation for a construction project. The aim of ther Sub Base is to provide stability, drainage, and load-bearing support.
Placed between the natural ground and the main surface layer of a construction project, a subbase provides a stable and even layer of strength for the top layer (such as concrete) on surfaces such as a driveway, pathway or other trafficked area.
